the beginning of the end...

Yes, folks, it's true. The six chicks/nine chicks are graduating in 3 1/2 months and counting. As sad as we are about leaving each other and this great university, we have vowed to make this an amazing last semester of our college career. The beginning of the end has proved to be so far full of new adventures....

Lauren ordered her wedding dress (with all 5 of us there to give our approval). It is absolutely georgous and she looks amazing in it! Oh, you want to know what it looks like???? Well, it's hot pink with orange lace and green beading all over the bodice. The skirt is mermaid style with streamer-like chiffaun coming out of the bottom of the dress that extend to a 6 foot train. It's absolutely stunning!!!! Oh, and the bridesmaids dresses look a little something like this------------->

Yes, y'all. We are going to look beautiful!

In other news, Jessica and D.O. are going to New York City on thursday. Yes, D.O. is going on the adventure of a lifetime with Jess, her sister Rachel, her cousin, and 3 other young co-eds to the big apple. Hold on to your hats folks, it's gonna be a ride for sure!

Brookie has begun her student teaching in the resource room at South Knoll Elementary. A great student teacher she is for sure. She comes home telling us about her children that call her Mith Brandon and how she corrects them and their lisp. Brookie is also currently in the application process to go to Thailand with the IMB to teach children with disabilities (yeah, brookie are you proud...people first language baby!). Brookie is going to fit right in...I'm just sure of it.

Sarah has been reading her little heart away. I believe she is currently in 525,600 books and is keeping them all straight. Truly, I am impressed with the mad reading skills of my bunkmate. Below are a couple of pictures for your viewing peasure. This is what she looks like when she is reading.

She was also recently asked to BCA formal with the oh so fab Mr. D.O. She was the chosen chick, and we truly are proud of his decision. However, his delivery will always be in question. To ask her, he taped a piece of paper with a poem written on it over the toilet bowl. Why the toilet bowl, we are still not sure. Maybe he thinks she has serious stomach issues, or a very small bladder. Needless to say, it was almost urined upon numerous times in the hour or so that it stayed taped to the bowl. Good job, D.O....I guess.....

Hayley is venturing off to the great states of Kentucky/Tennessee. She will visit her friend and ours...CHARLIE! We do love Charlie so! Hayley will be flying out of her favorite airport...HOBBY...where she could almost drive the roads with her eyes closed because she has driven them so many times. She is a champion flyer...really. We will miss her sweet eyes, nose, mouth, and cheeks while she is away...as well as her stunning sense of humor, but she will be anxioulsy greeted at the door of the eagle pass home when she arrives late on Sunday night. We hope her trip is successful...whatever that means!!!!!!!

Stephanie has been hanging out with us as usual, and we hope and pray that this never ends. We truly enjoy her company...every second of it and we love her laugh. She has also recently purchased a new REI fleece that looks absolutely stunning on her. We were a little nervous as to the outcome of what the fleece would look like on her, but she pulls it off oh so well.

Mikey unfortunately was absent from us this weekend, but he has fortunately returned and has taken his seat as one of the beloved nine chicks. I suppose the most amazing thing Mikey has done in the past 3 weeks occured late last night. I'm not sure he is ready to make this public knowledge, but here goes anyway. (He can take it up with me later if necessary.) He was making a friendly trip to his neighborhood sonic and forgot that number 9 (my beloved bike) was fastened securely to the top of suvy (his car). He proceeded to go under the canopy which caused some cosmetic damages which will prevent me from riding him for the next few days. Although he felt aweful, we all know it was an accident...and hey...how many people can claim that they did something like that!?!?!? Love is all we have for you, Mikey!

As, for me, Claire Elise Borne, ladies and gentlemen, the only exciting thing I can claim is that I saw a movie by myself. You may be thinking that it is something only lame people do because they have no friends.....au contraire mon amies!!!! I used to be really scared of it myself, but I must say that I am 100% a fan of solo movie viewing. Go, right now and see one for yourself. The movie I chose to see was "End of the Spear" and the showing I chose was the 12:25pm matinee feature. The ticket was only $4.50 and I was free to feel any emotion I desired (i.e. tears could flow freely without wondering what anyone was thinking of me). I am proud of myself, I must say and I recommend it it all!

That's a lot to leave you with friends, but I hope this will keep you occupied for a while. Much love from the six/nine chicks!!!!

What do Jelly Bellies, the OC, the 49ers and the Six Chicks have in common?

California, California, here we come.... (sing it OC style Mikey)

From LA to San Fran
We're gonna pile 6 in a van
Cruisin' the coast
I dare say I boast
That Spring Break '06
Will rival all those chick flicks
Get ready for sun, fun and no Smurfs
I can't wait for John Carter to teach us to surf!
Having no plans, but the plane ticket I hold
If you will let me be so bold
I just have to say, "Man!"
"This is the best trip we've ever planned!"

To the girls I love to share everything with---Can you believe it?! We're takin the chicks to Cali!!
