Ok, so we all know that it is way past the accepted time allotted for an update about the previous post, but bear with the chicks- they're just a little slow. I have debated on whether a wordy diatribe should paint the picture of the Spring Break excursion or if a picture montage would better serve to capture the momentous occassion. Since I am not very skilled in the art of debating myself, I think it will be a little bit of both.
California was great, from top to bottom. The weather was slightly colder than anticipated, so if you see multiple outfit repeats pictured, just know we learned our lesson. Trust the weather report, even if California=sunshine in your head. We started in San Fran and thoroughly enjoyed the big city and Fisherman's Wharf. With sea loins, clam chowder bread bowls, and Alcatraz some chicks decided they were more wharf girls than city girls. The Golden Gate Bridge was a highlight for all and quite the Kodak moment.

Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz followed the next day with an aquarium and thrift store shopping. We were able to watch the sunset (sort of) and the waves crash on the shore as we cheered on the surfer boys. Pretty sure they never had a cheering section before, but I'm sure it made their day gnarly. Lauren ate raw sushi (gasp!) and we all said goodbye to NorCal (tear).

Now Wednesday, the chicks piled in the Nissan Armada (yea baby!) and we were on our way to see John Carter! Newport proved to be restful and beautiful and we got to fulfill all of our OC fantasies. We laid out on the beach (sweatshirts and jeans style) and were entertained by the ever surprising breed of California boys.

With sand in our shoes, Charlie's Chili in our bellies, and memories of John Carter and his drawer in our heads we went big time--Hollywood!! We star-searched and people watched and window shopped (yikes!) on Hollywood Blvd. and in Westwood. Lauren was assaulted by Johnny Depp and we got to gorge ourselves on Diddy Reise--finally!!

To "the Pepe"-- your back seat really stunk, but you carted us around and didn't guzzle too much gas--we applaud you.
To California--thanks for the memories and the scenery. You're really pretty.
To Continental Airlines--thanks for row 20 a,b,c,d,e, and f--we couldn't have gotten there without you.
To the Chicks--thanks for a great last spring break. "It was just like a road trip with all my best friends." I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
