Lewisville turns a tad bit Cajun

This entry is dedicated to the travel adventures of our cajun chick, Claire, as she braves the world of student teaching.

Well folks... the time has come. This fall, Ms. Claire Elise Borne is moving her little self to Lewisville. That's right... the booming metropolis that it is. Now some might argue that it's not quite "booming." But, let's think about it. It's close to Dallas and Fort Worth. It's a part of the "metroplex" if you will. AND, this cajun is from Lafayette (that's pronounced laffy-ette, like laffy taffy). Last time I checked, they still sleep in campers in their back yards there. Now, let's not get confused... Lafayette is no New Iberia, however I think moving to the
metroplex is a step in the right direction.
See right side: The map has been attached for your visiting convenience.

Now for a few simple facts about Claire's new home and your new vacation spot!
Lewisville strikes a dynamic balance between small-town USA and urban metropolis. It's just minutes from the excitement of Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex; yet old-town charm is still next door when you visit the antique shops, specialty stores, and restaurants of Old Town Lewisville. Factor in world-class shopping, fine dining, the Texas Motor Speedway, new luxurious hotels, glittering blue lakes, and easy airport access, and it's no wonder word is spreading about Lewisville. Now you might ask: "Besides all of those amazing things to do in Lewisville... what will Claire be doing?" Well... she'll be teaching the children. Some lovely kids like these:

Lewisville ISD: watch out! Here comes a Science Olympiad champ. Your new Chemistry student teacher is quite amazing. She'll be arriving in the fall to teach the semester away. I know this is great news for you, but try to contain yourself. Because, while your having a grand ol' time with Ms. Borne-Vierling (she's being temporarily adopted), the chicks and co. are gonna miss her LIKE CRAZY! We're not quite sure how we're going to handle all of this, but Lewy: we trust you. Take good care of her.

Where will she stay??? That, my friends, is an exciting question. The amazing Mr. David and Mrs. Paula Vierling will be hosting Claire for the semester. These will be funny days. We can't wait to hear all of the stories. That Vierling family will have some new Cajun spice added to their existence.

Claire: From one little teacher to another, you will do an absolutely amazing job loving those kids and teaching them all about things that are way over my head. We will miss you dearly and can't wait to hear what the Lord has in store for your future. Now, feel free to fall in love with Lewisville and stay there.... California is just so far away! But, I know you'll have an amazing summer out there. California: here you come!

disclaimer: even though this entry was pretty much all about lewisville... california is pretty great too. i just thought it necessary to share with our readers the perks of life there. everybody already loves cali :)

claire taking my parents--i'm okay with.
me being cut out of the picture--not cool.

but i do love my bunkmate and can't wait to hear the exciting adventures that will ensue from living in my room, sleeping in my bed, eating my food, and basically being me--but in a much more hard-core, outdoorsy, Chemistry way.

all my love Gabby--you're the best bunkmate ever!!

Sarah's comment might be the most well-constructed piece of literature I've ever read.

Claire, have fun in the public schooling system... it's fun, believe me, I know. I've been there.

That souded like it could have been taken for the Lewisville City of Commerce Wed Travel Log... it wasn't was it?

Actually it was probably better - I grew up in The Colony, just a skip (no jump or hop even) from Lewisville, so I know. :)

I have heard that area has gotten big, big, BIG in the past 10 years or so... so it is in fact, a suburban metropolis. Have fun Claire - we, look forward to hearing about your adventures!

that was suppose to be "Web" Travel Log.... oops

Is it just me or do the letters you type in to make a post, make you feel like you are deciphering some secret spy code for covert access to the post page?
