I wish they all could be California girls...

In light of the blackmail by the one and only mastermind of the chicks' blog, Miss Sarah Page Vierling, I would like to finally post this "Said Blog". I highly doubt that it can live up to everyone's anticipation, but I will do my very best to update you on my life here in Sunny San Diego.

I came to San Diego to fulfill my dream of being a California girl about 2 months ago. I moved into an apartment in Chula Vista (about 7 miles from the Mexico border) and I had a job lined up to be a rock climbing instructor. Currently I am living in La Jolla (about 29 miles north of the Mexico border) and am working at a coffee shop and nannying for two little boys. Funny hunh?

The coffee shop that I work at is on the beach--literally the shop opens up to the ocean! That's the view from the back porch of the shop.

It's tough working here. Watching the beautiful sunset 4 days a week and hanging out with quirky Californians is rough. Stare at this picture below for 10 seconds. Now close your eyes and picture me behind that counter making latte's and mocha's and limiting my uses of "y'all" (I have to fit in somehow you know--everyone still thinks i have an accent). Do you think I fit? I do--or at least that's what I have to keep telling myself!

My nannying job is not as great as the coffee shop job, but i make it. My employers are not the best employers in the world and I am basically at their disposal--they use me when they need and don't when they don't and i'm supposed to be available whenever they need me. So pretty much everyday that they don't need me (and even some days that they do) I go to the beach. Oh, and did I mention that the beach is only 3 miles away from my house?

Speaking of being 3 miles from the beach, I forgot to mention why I am now living in La Jolla. There is a family that I know from Woodleaf, The Kings, who just moved down here from northern california. Their furnature hadn't even arrived yet when I came up here to visit them since I hadn't seen them in 2 years. Carolyn immediatly asked me to move in with them for the rest of the summer. I totally thought she was kidding, but apparently she was not. After Lauren's wedding I moved up here and am now living in Molly's room--she's 9. The King's have 4 girls--Morgan, Mallory, Maddie, and Molly--all of which sport "THE SWOOP" very strong! Coming soon...a video documenting the glory of all that is "THE SWOOP". Stay tuned.

Oh yes....and I'M A BLONDE NOW...well sort of!!!! I'm sorry Lauren and Jessica for deserting you to the second kitchen. I am ashamed. The point of this "said blog" was supposed to be to show off my new hair do, but it has turned into much more. And, i was supposed to also put in fire engine red streaks in my hair, but we sort of had a mishap and my hair almost turned orange. So, blonde it is. This is one of my new friends, Emily--she has not replaced the dear chicks, don't worry. But she is pretty great and I know could fit right in with all of us! Y'all would love her--I promise...Mikey approved!

Mikey also came to visit me this past weekend. Emily insisted on taking some pictures at the lifeguard towers in honor of Marissa and our mutual love for the TV show where it all started! HA!

I must say that i am loving my time out here. I love the family I am living with, I love my new friends, I love the coffee shop, I love the beach, but I wish that all 5 of you could be california girls with me.

So there.

No more threats.

No more hatred.

Here is your said post.

I hope it was all you hoped it to be.

It probably wasn't.

But Sarah will probably leave a witty comment to fulfill your need for laughter.

Hendrick boys....just give me a few more days to get your video. I promise some really cute girls modeling a really cute do!

And it is finished.

I think there is a direct correlation between the amount of time between posts and the number of comments that post is to receive. It's a downward facing U curve.

Here's what I'm not saying:
- Clabor's post is unworthy of 12 comments
- That this blog should continue only getting updated once a month

Love you girls... in case you weren't sure.

Oh how I miss my girls!!! I nearly have tears in my eyes as I read these blog updates (I know it doesn't take much, but in this case I REALLY AM MISSING YALL). And while my absence from a computer screen after so much time in front of one in my former life has made me more than a little homesick, waiting this long to check the blog gave me 3 posts spread out over about a month to read. I may do this more often!!
Seriously, I love you girls SO SO SO SO much and can't wait to see most of you next weekend (Claire, come home soon...atleast for a little while). I promise to add a super tight blog entry post LONG campy summer with my new do (is that how you spell that word) and sweet one piece and shorts tan!!
LOVE YOU.

Heather- I'm coming your way August 13. I have to see you all!
