an original gift
This morning was the same as a typical Christmas morning in the Borne household. I received a new camera to take the place of the busted one and all was well in the world of the cajun one. We went over to Nanny Brenda's house to begin our newest tradition of playing with the children, and began opening presents. Nothing too exciting, you must be thinking. And then...I opened the most amazing gift anyone has ever given me! Eat your heart out chicks and get ready for our newest roommies!
Merry Christmas from my family (and soon to be ours) to YOURS!

Pretty sure I miss you!
While our faithful readers already know the extent of our insanity (and slight obsession with each other), I will only further confirm your suspicions I'm sure through this entry which is specifically written to the other 5 parts of me (you know who you are).
Currently it is the 20th day of the month of December in the year 2005 - approximately 3 whole days since we "chicks" parted. Can you believe that it already feels like the days are creeping by like molasses and time has elapsed enough for me to be growing gray hairs since I saw each of you? How does that happen? I think you should know that I've seen far too many movies already in the last 3 days, I've laughed a lot less than normal, and I've suddenly taken a liking for reading ( :o - OH MY!) Something is wrong with this picture. My conclusion is this . . .
WE BELONG TOGETHER!
So I want you to know that you are like my family. You mean so so much to me. There are not words enough in the English language to express my appreciation for you. and I want each of you to have the Christmas of a lifetime. Whether it be in a cajun town with lots of parents and alcohol;), on a quaint street in Lewisville with a small family, in MO with the amazing Memaw and Papa, at grandma's with aunts, uncles and cousins in Denton, or with lots and lots of 'B' named people in Fort Worth, ENJOY! FELIZ NAVIDAD! I pray that the Lord shows you his sweet affections for you this holiday season. and know, too, that I LOVE YOU!

Winter Wonderland
The chicks definitely got into the Christmas spirit last night. The wind was chilly, we had the Texas version of snow (drizzly rain), and Mariah Carey blasting from the ipod. With chestnuts roasting on the open fire, the chicks proceeded to decorate yummy cookies, dance around a bit, and then partake in the age-old tradition of Christmas caroling. After bundling up and making it down 3 very treacherous steps and piling into Ollie, the fun began.
Memorable events:
Dancing and singing to Christmas pop music
Searching for Pickle's apartment in the freezing rain
Breaking into Wes and Michael's with Lauren's "off beat" kick
Practicing our "medley" for the Luther house,
Taking numerous pictures because Sarah couldn't open her eyes,
Singing All I Want for Christmas to Mr. D.O.,
Claire mastering foggy windows,
and the list just goes on....
All this to say: Merry Christmas to all those we love from the Six Chicks!

A Tribute...from his biggest fans
Pictured to the left is our great friend, Michael "Mikey" Mills playing with his band "While We're Here" at Coffee Station in College Station. His drumming abilities are endless and he for sure impressed us with his skills. Three of the six chicks and Stephanie (the 6 1/2 chick) came out to support Mikey--we are his biggest fans after all!
We truly enjoyed watching our dear friend drum his little heart away.
Overall, it was an amazing show. I think Mikey was satisfied!
